Why Can Irregular Menstruation?

Women who have entered puberty and had been menstruating sometimes will experience late menstrual period. Various questions arise about menstruation.

The question is often asked the women among them why the pain was unbearable accompany menstruation? Why does not irregular menstrual periods, rarely or too often?

Normal menstruation usually occurs during the 3-7 days each month with a distance of 21-30 days. After several years of menstruation, usually every woman has a cycle of fixed and can predict the next period. However, during menstruation there is also a more severe bleeding during menstrual periods.

Abnormal menstrual bleeding is defined as different from the previous menstrual cycle. Causes of abnormal menstrual usually not harmful. Here are some common reasons why the menstrual period does not run normally.

Gestation

When a pregnant woman’s body produces hormones that stop menstruation. Or, women still menstruate, but lighter than usual.

Stress

Stress is the most common cause of irregular menstruation. Stress hormone, cortisol affects the amount of estrogen and progesterone in the body. The amount of hormones are too much in the blood can cause changes in the menstrual cycle.

Diet

Other causes of irregular menstruation is food intake and body weight. Excessive carbohydrate consumption and obesity makes the body produces certain hormones that shifts the time of ovulation. The same goes for women who lose weight.

Sport
The body needs energy to happen period. Excessive exercise and burn too much energy making the body needs more time to prepare the menstrual cycle.

Pill

The pill makes the body has to adjust for several months prior to the dose of hormones used in birth control pills.

Drinking too much alcohol

The liver helps regulate the menstrual cycle of women with estrogen and progesterone metabolism. Drinking excessive alcohol can cause liver damage and may interfere with hormones related to the menstrual cycle.

Polycystic ovary syndrome

A complication that causes the formation of cysts on the ovaries which affects ovulation. Other symptoms of this condition include hair growth, weight gain, dandruff and infertility. Complications, including endometriosis, ovarian cancer and heart disease.

Menopause

As with any pregnancy, the body’s hormone levels in their late 40s or early 50s will shift the menstrual cycle.

Drugs

The use of certain drugs affect menstruation delay for several days. Therefore, the drug affects the body in producing estrogen and progesterone.

To overcome this there are several things you can do include changing lifestyle, exercise and diet. However, there is also a need to get medical assistance. Doctors can prescribe a treatment plan include hormonal contraceptives, or supplements that regulate and maintain hormone levels.
