BMW i8, BMW Concept for Hybrid Sport

BMW introduces BMW i8 concept vehicle, plug-in hybrid sports that will be launched in 2014.


“We always keep a dream to be able to offer electric cars to consumers,” said Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, on the sidelines of the two models debut in Frankfurt.

BMW i8 referred to as the newest generation of BMW sports car that had accelerated 0-100km/jam less than five seconds.


Fuel consumption is less than three liters for a distance of 100 kilometers. BMW i8 is a plug-in hybrid car with an output of 260 kW and can travel a distance of 35 kilometers.


Reithofer said the two concept cars that BMW could be a solution to land-use parking, navigation system intelligence by utilizing information based on location, travel route system that is integrated with a variety of modes, and the use of schemes in the concept car that tecakup DriveNow.


I In addition, BMW also introduced the concept of BMW I3, a vehicle with four seats and the trunk with a volume of 200 liters-is perfect for everyday cars.

BMW i3 and BMW i8 will be produced at the BMW factory in Leipzig, Germany.
